People are just as wonderful as sunsets if I can let them be… When I look at a sunset as I did the other evening, I don’t find myself saying, ‘Soften the orange a little on the right hand corner, and put a bit more purple along the base, and use a little more pink in the cloud colour’. I don’t do that. I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch in awe as it unfolds.

Counselling
How much does counselling cost?
Each session is 1 hour long and costs £50. If you think you will have difficulty with the cost of sessions I would welcome a conversation around this, so please let me know if you need to discuss affordability.
How frequent are counselling sessions?
This comes down to individual preference – I don’t determine a set frequency. Often people like to start with weekly or fortnightly sessions. We can discuss at our initial meeting what your preference might be and this can also be subject to change as you move through your counselling process.
How many sessions will I need?
Again, this is very individual, and I don’t set an amount of sessions that you ‘need’ as everyone’s journey is unique to them. We will use review sessions to mutually assess our work together and determine the need for further sessions and the overall duration of therapy. Therapy can sometimes be brief or can sometimes continue for many months or even years, depending on the needs, circumstances and choices of the client.
Where are counselling sessions held?
For face-to-face indoor counselling sessions I work from therapy rooms in the centre of Inverness. If you opt for online sessions this means you can log on from any location, so long as you have a decent internet connection and a quiet, private space for the duration of the session.
Outdoor Therapy
Where are outdoor therapy sessions held?
Typically I work from woodlands around the Inverness area. During winter months we may need to consider our location dependent on daylight hours and travel conditions.
What about the weather?
Other that extreme weather conditions (weather warnings, high winds etc) we will be out in all weathers! I will provide you with an information sheet to suggest things to consider, and if you have any concerns we can talk about this together in our introductory call.
What do I need to wear and bring?
If you choose to start outdoor therapy sessions, I will send you an information sheet with a comprehensive list of things you might want to consider bringing, as well as serving as a reminder to check the weather, be aware of the conditions and dress accordingly.
Nature Connection Events
When and where are the Nature Connection Events held?
My guided nature connection events take place in woodland areas in and around Inverness. The specific dates and locations of up-coming events will be posted on my website and social media.
How many people will be in a group?
The groups for the Nature Connection Events will be up to 8 participants, with a minimum group number of 3 people.
Are the Nature Connection Events like group therapy?
No. Although I am a trained counsellor and will approach these events as a facilitator in a person-centred way, these are not group therapy sessions. The events are offered as a coming-together of like-minded folks, to explore our own relationships with the natural world, to connect with nature, our ‘selves’ and each other. I am there as a facilitator to help guide and support this experience.
